This page includes information about modifications and enhancements to the knowledge center service, Candid’s institutional repository solution for the social sector.

When you next take a look at your Knowledge Center Analytics, you may notice an increase in the number of downloads that occurred recently. This increase is not a mistake or glitch. It’s simply a more accurate accounting of the number of times pages were viewed and content was downloaded by people who were seeking your content regardless of whether they were on your Knowledge Center or somewhere else on the internet.
Over the past couple of months we audited how we use Google Analytics to track page views and access to downloadable content. This led us to a comprehensive update of our codebase. We’re happy to report that we are now getting more page view and download data, and the data we are getting is more accurate.
One important factor in this increase in data collection is our new ability to track and report download requests that happen outside of IssueLab. We’ve always tracked clicks on download links within your Knowledge Center. Now we’re also collecting data on links which are clicked outside of your Knowledge Center that lead directly to the digital content available in your Knowledge Center.
This new layer of tracking, which monitors for links to your content from places like Google search result pages, email messages, group chat messages and more means we are able to capture this user activity and supply it to you via your Knowledge Center Analytics.
